Benefit Haul/Review

Recently I have been splurging on 'high end' make up products that are constantly talked about on YouTube. I thought that I would share with you the things I picked up from Benefit. All of my products were purchased from the Benefit counter in Debenhams.

I have tried the benefit mascaras in the past and really liked them, so I decided to purchase the watts up highlighter, hoola bronzer and a crease-less cream eyeshadow. I adore the names and packaging of Benefit products.

Benefits watts up highlighter is £24.50. It is a beautiful champagne, cream highlighter and is dual ended. On one end is the product and on the other is a sponge blender. I find that the sponge removed some of the products that I already had on my face and immediately appeared dirty. I have not yet found a way to clean the sponge, as I do not want to get the product wet, so I just do not use it.

The product glides on to the face effortlessly. It can either be applied lightly for a suttle glow or heavier for a more of an intense look. The product is light, buttery soft and has nice staying power but does not last all day. I think this will look stunning in summer when my skin is a shade or two darker (no longer as pale as a ghost) and I will use it more. I apply the product to the high points of my face and blend in to the skin with my finger.

Hoola bronzer is £23.50. It is now my everyday bronzer! I am in love with the product but the packaging is a let down. The box is made out of cardboard and comes with a plastic tray insert and a brush, as shown in the picture below. For the price expect more but putting that aside, this is a staple.

Hoola is perfect for contouring and sculpting but also a lovely all over bronzer for pale skin. It is not too warm (orange) but not to ashy either- it is beautiful! The bronzer is not muddy and blends easily, like a dream. It is my favourite bronzer.

Benefits creaseless cream eye shadows are £15.50. I was pondering over the shade bikini tini and RSVP but I chose bikini tini. I wanted a champagne cream base that I can wear on its own or with shadows over the top. Lots of makeup brands sell cream champagne eyeshadows but I chose Benefit because they are extremely creamy and pigmented. The packaging is beautiful to! I wear cream eyeshadows everyday and this is one of the shades that I reach for a lot.

I love creaseless cream eyeshadows and I will definitely be purchasing different shades! I love a good champagne eyeshadow and I have found the perfect cream version. The shadows do not crease at all (like the name suggests), they are buttery at the first touch, and they are super easy to apply and blend. These are great bases for other shadows on top and stunning on its own swiped over the lid!

Benefit products are a wonderful treat and there is a long list of products I would love to try and very slowly I am purchasing them. Please leave your thought about these product and your favourites in the comment section and I really hope you enjoyed my ramble about these products!

Review | YSL Rouge Volupte Shine

I recently purchased my first Yves Saint Laurent lipstick. It is defiantly the most expensive lipstick in my collection. However, I have fallen in love with the formula! My lips get dry easily and quickly but the Rouge Volupte Shine lipsticks are very moisturising and I find that I do not have to wear a lip balm underneath. It is comfortable to wear on the lips, glossy and defiantly one of my favourites!

They cost £26. Even though I do love these lipsticks the price tag is quite steep! MAC lipsticks are nearly just as nice and cost nearly half the price. Having said that, the packaging is beautiful and they are a 'high end' lipstick so I expect the price tag. The YSL lipsticks are a luxurious product and a real treat.

I was torn between two shades, number 8 and number 9. Number 8 is more pinky than 9. I decided to purchase Number 8 from House of Fraser. This shade is a really pretty 'my lips but better' kind of shade. When I first removed the lid, my first thought was 'this is going to be far to sparkly'. I thought this because the lipstick has glitter in it. But when it is on the lips the glitter adds to the shine and looks stunning! I think that the Rimmel London lipliner in the shade Eastend Snob is a pretty colour match, makes the lips appear more prominent with the liner underneath and helps the lasting power of the lipstick.

Over all I think that these lipsticks are worth the money. I will defiantly, slowly, purchase more YSL lipsticks in more shades and different finishes.

Thank you for reading my review and I hope you find it helpful.
Do you have any good recommendations/favourite lipsticks?

Make-up Of The Day

Today I have gone for quite a natural look with pink lips and cheeks.

First I moisturised with Nivea Soft and Nivea Lip Butter I then put Rimmel Wake me up concealer under my eyes. I mixed together Rimmel Wake me up Foundation with my moisturiser to create a lighter base. I then set it all with Rimmel Stay matte powder.

I then put Maybelline color tattoo in pink gold all over my eye lid as a base for other shadows. The I used a mixture of foxy and w.o.s eye shadows all over my lid, followed by naked2 on outer half of my lid then a tiny bit of faint in my crease (all from the Urban Decay naked basics palette) and blended it all in. I then used a brown pencil eye liner on the outer half of my lower lash line and blended it in. I used Maybelline the falsies mascara  on my upper lashes and No7 extreme length extend mascara on my bottom lashes. For my lips I used Tanya Burrs lip gloss in picnic in the park and mac powder blush in fleur power on my cheeks.

These are the brushes I used, they are all by Real Techniques

Banana Cinnamon Omelet

Recently I have learnt how to make a banana cinnamon omelet. It is quick, simple, healthy and most importantly delicious! I like to make this for breakfast as it fills me up, its healthy, tasty and gets me ready for the day ahead. So, I thought I would share the recipe with you for my banana cinnamon omelet.
Lets begin...

*First of all, pre-heat your grill at the fullest temperature. (optional)

The ingredients you will need;
-Olive oil (or sunflower oil)
-Two free range eggs
-Cinnamon
-One banana
You will also need a frying pan, a fork, something to beat your eggs in (i used a mug), something to stir with (i used a small wooden spoon) and a knife.

Then turn the hob on a medium-low heat and add your oil.

Whilst your oil is heating, chop up your banana.

Swirl your heated oil around the pan and then add your chopped banana to soften them. (you might have to turn the heat down a little)

Whilst your bananas are softening, crack your two free range eggs in to a mug and beat them with a fork.

Then, position your softened bananas to where you want them to be and add in your eggs. Swirl your eggs around the pan, making sure they coat the whole pan and there is no gaps

Sprinkle your cinnamon on top of your eggs and leave for all your egg to cook. (it will look something like this when it has cooked)

*This is optional, but I like to do this step. When you have cooked your omelet, just to make sure the egg on top has cooked I like to just pop it under the grill for 2-3 minuets or so.

After, with a utensil, fold your omelet in half, then half again to make it easier to take it out of the pan. Place it on a plate.

Then your omelet is ready to eat! You can add fruit on the side or serve it on its own. I like to serve mine with a mix of fruit on the side. Today I have chosen strawberries and blue berries. I also made a cup of green tea with lemon to finish it off!

This is a healthy, yummy, tasty meal that you could have for breakfast or brunch. You can change the filling from bananas and cinnamon to ham and cherry tomatoes with salad on the side for a more appropriate lunch or dinner time meal. There is lots and lots of different ways you can eat an omelet, just play around and see what you could make!

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed this recipe and it has inspired you to make this omelet or something similar! If you make it then take a picture of it and hash tag it me on instagram and twitter with #myyummyomelet. Make sure to follow my blog and my social media to keep up to date and see more posts from me! Have a nice day...

What have you put in this omelet?

Healthy Snacks

So, summers around the corner and and we want to look and feel good. But who wants to 'diet' and all of that? Well not me! So I have decided to just cut back on a few things. I want to share these quick and healthy snacks with you to show you what I have been eating recently if I have been feeling a little peck-ish!

The first snack that i think is really yummy but quite healthy at the same time, is sliced apple and peanut spread. I think together as a combination this tastes really good. The natural sweetness from the apple balances the saltiness of the peanut spread. The apple that I tend to go for is a small reddish-greenish apple or small red apple. The peanut spread is not peanut butter. It has no butter inside of it, so it is not as sweet and creamy, meaning it is healthier but still crunchy from the peanuts! Personally I am not keen on the peanut spread on its own, i think its too salty but with the apple it works a treat.

My second snack is very simple, it is just fruit! In the picture above I have a bowl of washed blueberries, strawberries and grapes. My personal favourite 'family' of fruits is the berry family and grapes (but you can change them to your favourites)! I am a bit of a freak when it comes to making sure things are washed before I eat them! I think that fruit is just yummy and sweet in general and i eat it anyway but i have been making more of an effort to choose fruit instead of chocolate.

Of course we are all human and we crave sweet/savoury things! I still have chocolate and things like that but I have decided to switch it up some times for fruit or something.

Thank you for reading and I hope you found this helpful and has given you some ideas.Make sure you follow my blog for more posts from me. Have a nice day...

What are your favourite snacks?
