Recently I have learnt how to make a banana cinnamon omelet. It is quick, simple, healthy and most importantly delicious! I like to make this for breakfast as it fills me up, its healthy, tasty and gets me ready for the day ahead. So, I thought I would share the recipe with you for my banana cinnamon omelet.
Lets begin...
*First of all, pre-heat your grill at the fullest temperature. (optional)
The ingredients you will need;
-Olive oil (or sunflower oil)
-Two free range eggs
-Cinnamon
-One banana
You will also need a frying pan, a fork, something to beat your eggs in (i used a mug), something to stir with (i used a small wooden spoon) and a knife.
Then turn the hob on a medium-low heat and add your oil.
Whilst your oil is heating, chop up your banana.
Swirl your heated oil around the pan and then add your chopped banana to soften them. (you might have to turn the heat down a little)
Whilst your bananas are softening, crack your two free range eggs in to a mug and beat them with a fork.
Then, position your softened bananas to where you want them to be and add in your eggs. Swirl your eggs around the pan, making sure they coat the whole pan and there is no gaps
Sprinkle your cinnamon on top of your eggs and leave for all your egg to cook. (it will look something like this when it has cooked)
*This is optional, but I like to do this step. When you have cooked your omelet, just to make sure the egg on top has cooked I like to just pop it under the grill for 2-3 minuets or so.
After, with a utensil, fold your omelet in half, then half again to make it easier to take it out of the pan. Place it on a plate.
Then your omelet is ready to eat! You can add fruit on the side or serve it on its own. I like to serve mine with a mix of fruit on the side. Today I have chosen strawberries and blue berries. I also made a cup of green tea with lemon to finish it off!
This is a healthy, yummy, tasty meal that you could have for breakfast or brunch. You can change the filling from bananas and cinnamon to ham and cherry tomatoes with salad on the side for a more appropriate lunch or dinner time meal. There is lots and lots of different ways you can eat an omelet, just play around and see what you could make!
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed this recipe and it has inspired you to make this omelet or something similar!
